Get your heart pumping and help support Best Buddies at this cycling fundraiser that includes post-event yoga and swag bags for all participants. Each $30 ride will help fund leadership and educational programs for those individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities that is served by Best Buddies. There will be 4 heats; 8:00am,9:00am10:00am, and 11:00am. Consider creating a team of cyclists with a rider in each heat.
Sign up to cycle by visiting https://cycleforfriendship.eventbrite.com

Community Service Opportunities

It's the third Sunday of the month again - which means Book Sorting for the Friends of the Library book sale!

Join us this Sunday 4/17 from 1-3 in the Couper Room (come to the back of the library) to help categorize books and stow them in the trailer - this will be the last sorting before our sale on May-14.

Another great way to help the Friends out - and get those last minute community service hours - is to come to the Transfer Station during April to help sort the returnable bottles into bags and boxes. Find shifts here http://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0f4ca4ab2fa3fa7-cans

COMMUNITY SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES

COMMUNITY SERVICE FORM

The Littleton Cultural Council is having an Artist Reception on Friday April 8th from 6pm - 8pm. We would need some volunteers from 4.45 to 6.15 for decorations and setup of the Multi Purpose Room in the Town offices building. See Mrs. Buonacore to sign up

On Tuesday, April 12 members of the Health Club  and any other interested students will be visiting Nashoba Valley Life Care Center in Littleton.  The Life Care Center is located at 191 Foster Street. During the visit students will interact and converse with some of the seniors there.  The program will begin at 2:20 and end at 3:00.
Students will have to make arrangements to be picked up at 3. See Mrs. Buonacore to sign up

From the LHS Humanitarian Club:

We are still looking for Plungers next Saturday, April 9th at 10:00 at the Town Beach. Our annual Penguin Plunge raises money for Speciall Olympics of Massachusetts. To donate or to join our LHS team, go to:http://www.kintera.org/faf/home/default.asp?ievent=1157569

On Wednesday, April 13th the LHS Humanitarian Club and National Honor Society will be hosting an Oxfam dinner at 6:00 p.m. in the LHS cafeteria. The cost is a $5.00 donation with all funds raised going for humanitarian aid for Syrian refugees in Europe. A guest speaker form Oxfam will present information about the current state of the refugee crisis. Email Susan Harvey at sharvey@littletonps.org for more information.

Pack for a Purpose is a charity in Turks and Caicos that gives school supplies to the needy children. The Humanitarian club is collecting school supplies, particularly pencils, markers, rulers, portable sharpeners, etc. Items can be new or gently used. We are also looking for donations to pay for the suitcases to hold the supplies. Supplies are needed by April 14th and can be dropped off in the main office at LHS.

Book sorters and Friends, here is an additional opportunity to help out the Friends of the Reuben Hoar Library!
During the month of April, all the returnable cans and bottles that are brought to the Littleton Transfer Station will be sorted and stored by volunteers from the Friends of the Library. The Friends will receive all the money from the deposits on the cans and bottles.
Help is needed to sort the cans and bottles and stow them in the trailer at the transfer station. You do not have to be there for the entire shift as long as things are not piling up during busy times.
See the shifts and sign up here: http://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0f4ca4ab2fa3fa7-cans

Please note that this can be used for community service, but the transfer station required that an adult be present.

Help is also needed to transport the cans and bottles to the redemption center. If you'd like to help with that or for more details, contact Mark or Sarah Rambacher at 978-952-6211.
